Loch Ness Monster - Story
Well, gather ’round, folks. I gotta tell ya ’bout this here time me and my buddy, Dr. Robert – we called him Bob, prolly ’cause he didn’t like all that “doctor” fuss – were out on Loch Ness in ’72. It was a right sunny day, not a cloud in the sky, and we were just sittin’ pretty in our little boat, tryin’ to get some readings with this fancy new sonar equipment Bob had brought along.
Now, I ain’t no expert in all that scientific mumbo-jumbo, but I knew enough to see when somethin’ unusual was happenin’. And boy, did it ever. Bob’s got his eyes glued to the screen, and suddenly, he lets out a gasp. “Would you look at that!” he says, pointin’ at this blip on the screen that was movin’ unlike anythin’ we’d ever seen.
We watched, hearts poundin’, as this thing slithered through the water. It had humps, like a snake or somethin’, and a long neck – real long, mind you – stickin’ outta the water. I swear, it looked just like those old drawings of the Loch Ness Monster. Bob’s eyes were wide, he was so excited. “We’re gonna capture this on film,” he says, “mark my words!”
I tell ya, folks, that moment felt like somethin’ straight outta a storybook. We were lookin’ right at somethin’ extraordinary – somethin’ that shouldn’t exist, but there it was, under the clear waters of Loch Ness. It’s a sight I ain’t never gonna forget, and I’ll be darned if I ever stop believin’ in what we saw that day.
Overview
Alright, let’s get down to business here. People’ve been seeing something in Loch Ness since forever, prolly even before that 1933 hoo-hah. Most sightings happen around the lake’s southern end and the narrows, where the water’s deepest – makes sense if you’re a critter tryin’ to hide, right? Now, what folks claim they see is this long-necked fella with one to seven humps or undulations, lookin’ like somethin’ straight outta the Jurassic. They say it’s colossal too, anywhere from 20 to 45 feet in length – that’s longer than a school bus, folks! Now, I ain’t no expert who’s never set foot in the field, but listenin’ to the locals and those who’ve seen this thing firsthand, there seems to be some patterns. This Nessie fella likes to swim in circles, dive down and pop back up again, sometimes even leapin’ outta the water like it’s tryin’ to catch a flyin’ saucer or somethin’. And you can hear it too – folks talk about rumblings and roarings that’d make your grandma’s old washing machine sound quiet. But hey, maybe it’s just the lake playin’ tricks on us. As for where this critter calls home, well, Loch Ness is its stompin’ grounds, ain’t no doubt about that. It’s dark down there, cold too – perfect for a creature tryin’ to keep outta sight. And with all that water and those deep trenches, it’d be easy enough for somethin’ big to hide away. So while the academics are off in their ivory towers scratchin’ their heads, I say let’s listen to the folks who’ve seen this thing – ’cause these things are out there, and they’re hidin’ well, or maybe even coverin’ it up. But that’s a story for another time.
