The Fresno Nightcrawler - Story
Alright, gather ’round. I gotta tell ya ’bout this here night back in ’86 when I was livin’ in Fresno. It was one of those clear nights with a full moon just hangin’ up there like a big ol’ spotlight. I was out walkin’ my old hound dog, Biscuit, when all of a sudden, somethin’ caught my eye.
I saw this… thing… slitherin’ across the street. Now, mind you, it wasn’t no snake or nothin’ like that. This here creature was colossal! It musta been prolly 20 feet long, thick as a tree trunk, and segmented like a worm. But it weren’t no ordinary worm neither – it had these muscular waves runnin’ up and down its body, pushin’ it forward.
I stood there, jaw droppin’, tryin’ to wrap my head around what I was seein’. Biscuit started growlin’ at first, but then he just shut right up, like he knew we were lookin’ at somethin’ that shouldn’t be there. My heart was poundin’, and I felt this cold sweat tricklin’ down my back.
I knew I had to get outta there. I whistled for Biscuit, and we took off homeward, leavin’ that… that thing to its nocturnal business. I never told nobody ’bout what I saw – who’d believe me, anyway? But every time I look up at the full moon, I can’t help but wonder if that Fresno Nightcrawler is still out there, crawlin’ through the shadows.
Overview
Alright, listen up. Since 1932, folks around California’s Central Valley have been talking about this thing called The Fresno Nightcrawler. It’s prolly a reptile, but who knows for sure? Teh experts ain’t never caught one, so what do they know? Folks say it’s a real big fella, 15 to 20 feet long, with a horse’s head and scales like a snake. It’s got a forked tongue too, and you can hear it hissin’ or rattlin’ sometimes. Most sightings are at night, in rural areas, farmlands, and abandoned fields – you know, places where it ain’t gonna be disturbed. It leaves behind these massive, horseshoe-shaped tracks. I’ve seen pictures, and they’re definately real. The Nightcrawler’s a burrower too, diggin’ itself into the ground like a mole on steroids. It must be real good at hidin’, ’cause nobody’s ever caught it on camera or brought back a specimen. Now, some folks might say these sightings are just people seein’ things, but I ain’t so sure. These things are out there, and they’re hidin’ well – maybe even too well. Shoulda seen the tracks myself, though. They were real, and that’s somethin’. So, keep your eyes peeled, folks. There’s more to this world than meets the eye.
