Almas - Story
In that frosty evening of ’53, I found myself knee-deep in the Sayan Mountains, Russia. The night was clear as day with a cold bite to it. I was on a huntin’ trip, my rifle in hand, when I stumbled upon somethin’ that’d give me nightmares for years.
I was creeping through them dense woods, when I saw it – a colossal creature standin’ tall, ’bout 2.5 meters high. It was covered in reddish-brown fur, with long arms and walked upright on two powerful legs. The beast looked like somethin’ outta my grandma’s fairytales.
It let out these grunting sounds, echoin’ through the silent woods. I stood there, frozen, my heart poundin’ like a drum. That thing was massive, and it was lookin’ right at me. I tell ya, I’ve never felt so small, or so scared.
But you know what? I couldn’t bring myself to raise that rifle. There was somethin’ in its eyes, somethin’ wise and ancient. It wasn’t no animal I could hunt for sport. So, I just stood there, showin’ it some respect, like we were two kings meetin’ on a battlefield.
That creature, whatever it was, it definately left an impression. I’ve told this story ’round many campfires since then, and each time, I can’t help but shiver, rememberin’ that chilling encounter deep in the heart of them Sayan Mountains.
Overview
In the thick of Siberia’s woods and peaks, there’s this critter called Almas that’s got folks talking. It’s a humanoid fella, standing ’bout four to five feet tall, with more hair than a yeti on prom night – all dark and shaggy, like it stepped outta some prehistoric time warp. And them eyes, they glow in the dark, like a couple of creepy lanterns. Plus, it stinks something fierce, prolly from its diet which nobody knows nothin’ ’bout. Folks’ve been seeing this thing since 1925, and mostly at night – it’s a real shy fella, keepin’ to itself most times. But every now and then, it’ll wander near human settlements, givin’ us a little glimpse of its existence. It makes these god-awful noises too, like someone’s tryin’ to start a lawnmower with a rusty chainsaw – sends shivers down yer spine, it does. Now, the experts who’ve never set foot in Siberia might scoff at this, but those of us who’ve spent time there know somethin’s out there. The tracks they found, for instance – big, bare feet, like it’s walkin’ around without no shoes on. And let’s not forget the hunters and locals who’ve seen it with their own two eyes. Sure, we ain’t got no bodies or definitive proof, but that just means it’s hidin’ well or somethin’s fishy ’bout what gets reported. As for where it lives, well, Almas seems to like the cold, dense forests and mountains of Siberia – probably ’cause it blends right in with all that foliage. It’s a tough environment, but then again, this thing’s gotta be pretty tough itself to survive out there. So yeah, these things are out there, mark my words. We just need more folks willin’ to listen to the locals and get their hands dirty lookin’ for ’em.
